Left the house this morning for what I was hoping would be a nice little jaunt from the Dreamy Draw. Started out just fine, following 100 west under the tunnel and around the big hill... climbing the second large hill I bailed. Not hard, but I still fell in the dirt enough to hurt my pride. Ok, fine, hop back on, start working it. Got about 2 miles into the trail, working my way thru a solid rock garden, caught the front wheel and WHAM, my bike spits me over the front and slams me onto the ground. OUCH *gasp gasp, can't breathe!*. Waited there for 15 mins or so till I could breathe again, hopped back on and started riding again. Got to where 100 drops down the steep downhill just west of Cave Creek Rd and WHAM, went down again in the rocks! Bike put me down hard this time. Once again, wind knocked outta me. So, I picked myself back up and rode back to the truck.

Anyway, that was todays riding adventure, also my first post here. Thanks go out to Srexy for hookin me up with the URL, now I have somewhere to vent my frustrations after stupid get-offs like today.

Glad to hear you got back on and rode - you're a grizzled veteran of T100 now :D

I had a stint of days were I could not ride National without either crashing, having a major mechanical, or both. Seemed like every time I went out there disaster struck, but I am still riding and enjoying that trail and I can always fix my bike. Some days you got it, other days it's got you. Get back up and ride, or crash, again till you get it right.

I think its time that I tackled National! I have seen everyone on here write about it and my friends talk about it, but I have stuck with Trail 100 since I started riding. Can anyone give me a general idea of where to start and how to follow it? I have nothing but time this week and would love t give it a whirl... or, if ya'll think I'd become a statistic, dont tell me where its at. :D
