this is a good video and makes a valid point to drivers. But, think about this. Did the bear (cyclist) do anything to make himself more visiblbe other than wave a bit? Answer: Nope! Low light, dark clothing, dark bacround! How many people would have seen the bear if he'd been wearing a BRIGHT yellow jersey? I think the ratio would have gone up considerably if he had been!

Don't get me wrong, drivers have a responsibility to PAY ATTENTION when driving and be aware of EVERY vehicle that is using the road, and the clip makes that point quite well. But we as cyclists also have a responsibility to do EVERYTHING we can to make ourselves as vissible as possible. A cyclist wearing dark colored clothing on a cloudy day or during periods of low light can be almost invisible. We don't have the frontal or side section of even the smallest car or even an average motor cycle. So we are hard to see.

My point is, there are two points to be made from the video. One for motorists, and one for cyclists, if you look at it from both perspectives. Unfortunately because the video is being used by a cycling advocacy group, they completely fail to mention the other perspective.
