Cranks: Truvativ Stylo Team GXP
Wheelset: FSA XC-300
Brakes: I love Avid mechanicals but I may pick up a set of Avid Juicys
Tires: Kenda Nevegals

As you can probably tell,. this is going to be a lighter build then intended for this bike but I really would love to keep it under 30 Lbs..and I think with these part choices, I should be able to.

What do you all think?

Nice man. I would put only hydralic brakes and another tires. Last year i had also a kenda nevegal on my mongoose, and i changed them only after 700 kilometers (430 miles). Nevegal is good tires for XC only, i do Singles and they don't hold for very long time! I can say they are no good fo stone riding and jumping.

I just finished building up an '07 Teocali Super frame that I bought on eBay. I haven't had an opportunity to get it out for any major rides yet, since it's snowy here in MT. :D Here's my build:

Shock: RockShox MC 3.1
Fork: '06 Marzocchi Z1 FR SL
Brakes: Avid Juicy 5 185m front/160mm rear
Front der: SRAM X-7
Rear der: SRAM X-7
Shifters: SRAM X-7
Cranks/BB: Truvativ Stylo
Stem: Titec El Norte
Handlebar: Titec Hellbent
Wheelset: Formula hubs on WTB Dual Duty FR rims
Tires: Kenda Nevegal 2.1 (love these tires)

Your build looks pretty similar to mine so far (yours will be a bit lighter). I'd recommend hydro brakes on a 6" bike. You should be able to find a set of Juicys for pretty cheap on eBay.

$280 for the frame and shock.

Change of plans. My front der. (the SRAM X-7) doesn't fit. The clamp is too high and won't allow the derailleur cage to clear the rings. I'm wondering if that's why factory Teocalis are spec'd with Shimano front derailleurs? Anybody have any insight here?

hmm thats quite a good deal you got on the frame!

maybe it needs a bottom swing front derailleur? im sure thats not something youve overlooked but sometimes it happens!

Rode a Teocali at this year's Interbike dirt demo, regardless of what you think of Mongoose their LBS stuff is pretty darn good.

have a new medium '05 super w/out a shock I may part with.

I am shooting for about 30-31 lbs. with my '06 Large Teo. Going to a Fox Vanilla RLC (from Marz. All Mount. 1) and Hope Mono Minis.

I have a large '05 Teocali Super. I replaced the Shimano Deore w/ an XT and it fit. Sorry, but no insight for SRAM front deraillleurs. The XT was a tight fit, but it fit and works great.

Have much does the frame (and shock) weight roughly?

Was that for a new frame? I'm thinking of selling a large frame (new) but that's pretty low!
