Got a line on a UFO ST frame the price is VERY good but about $600 more than I really wanted to spend. So are these Nicolai frames really as kick ass as everyone says? I was intending on spending what I'm about to on this frame on a complete build up, so will it be worth it in the end? I know I'll be more motivated to travel to riding spots if I spend this much :D.

Speak to people like Err and Whafe especially as he has a stable full. I am still waiting for delivery of mine but I have spend a ton of money on a frame that I have bought solely on recomendations from the good people on this site.

Okay, say compared to my other choices:

'06 DirtBag on sale right now for $699
'03 Foes Fly frame with bb, cranks, rear mec $850

Would the UFO ST be worth say $700 more than these?

Whew, it's a leap of faith isn't it? Can't even imagine what I'd feel like if I were layin it down like CF has

The UFO is a single pivot like both of the frames you mentioned and has similar travel and has similar stated purpose so this is actually a really good comparison.

Characteristics of UFO-ST to consider when justifying the extra cost:
VERY high quality bearings and well engineered pivots that do not loosen
Dialed in geometry for slope-style (short chainstays, low BB, slack HT)
Very strong frame with tremendous gusseting and reinforcement
Anodized finish in the case of the one that you're looking at.
12mm Maxle rear-end, the BEST rear axle option on the market for FR/DH
1.5 HT for total fork flexibility
5 year fully transferable warranty and 10 year parts availability
Hand made by some really cool German dudes

The other two frames you are looking at are great frames for sure, not going to knock them, but the UFO-ST is a sweet machine.

Hey you're not supposed to know which one I'm looking at ;). You said the magic word for me there, "slopestyle". I want something manuverable but also able to take punishment. Ugh, so it's a silly good deal right Tony?

It's a darn good deal and one you won't come by often.

It may also be worthy of note that Nicolai has campaigned a race team that has done very well on the UFO-ST when setup with a Boxxer. Very versatile frame.
