Is there any source out there with the specs?

I have been upgrading parts on the bike I keep finding myself asking what size everything is. :(

My current question is what size is seat post? I've seen 31.6 but that was for a newer model.

I posted a similar question a few months back. No luck finding the thread.

I believe it was mccrumble69 who lead me to the specs provided courtesy of greenfishsports (http://www.greenfishsports.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1355) Scroll down and click on "frame geometry"

All San Andreas use a 31.6mm seat post. Actually all Mountain Cycle frames are 31.6 except the ones with continuos seat tubes that use 30.9mm or the newest Rumble with 27.2mm.
The Virtue and Stumptown are 27.2.

Did the San Andreas come with any other size than a 1 1/8 head tube size, like a 1.5?

I just got a Cane Creek S6 headset and it's way too small.

Yes, the 1992 thru oh, probably 1995ish San Andreas frames were made for the old Evolution 1 1/4" sized headset. You can get either a Devolution King, or headtube reducers (to take a 1 1/8) but be warned that whichever headset you run with a reducer is gonna be STUCK to that reducer and will need to be cut off if you ever try and put it in another non-evolution sized frame. You can also of course track down a evolution size headset and a fork to fit it, there's a marzocchi that's NOS on ebay canada in the right size as it happens. Probably should. Those old San Andreas frames were designed around 2-3" travel forks. If you have one of that era note the disc mount is for the old Pro-Stop disc brakes and you'd need an adapter to fit anything modern.

The first couple years of San Andreas used a smaller steer tube. All San Andreas frames newer than about '95 use a 1-1/8" headset. Sounds like you got the wrong size or style headset. Nowadays there are internal and other off-style headsets.

Yes - some early frames were 1 1/4". This spacer is all you need.

Smaller?!? What crack have you been smoking?!? 1 1/4" steerers were the largest available at the time except for some proprietary sizes that Klein and Cannondale used. All San Andreas frames have used the same conventional external style headsets, just the steerer diameter got smaller in around 1995-96 by 1/8" as many fork makers began to abandon producing suspension forks for the evolution size. Same reason why brands of mountain bikes still using the 1" standard size started upgrading to the 1 1/8" oversize about the same time (Ritchey was probably the last brand using it, and had to special order the forks they used from Rockshox).

A CaneCreek S6 headset is a conventional 1 1/8" oversized headset, the cup diameter where it presses into the frame is 34mm. Unfortunetly the diameter of an evolution 1 1/4" cup at this point is 37mm, which is why it doesn't fit his apparently older frame.
