Cause you may have success finding hardtail Dual Slalom frames (for example, the Craftworks Rail at Jenson for $250 or the Azonic DS1 for $199 at Pricepoint, but good luck find a full suspension frame for $200 that's worth the powder to blow it to he11. Jenson has the KHS XC504 OEM frame for $299. Who knows how good that is? PaintPeelinPbody 02-03-2004, 01:20 PM I dont know anything about Craftworks, they say that frame has a 15inch seat tube, so im guessing it'll have standover like a 15 inch only its as long as 17, which would fit me about perfect. That's a DS frame correct? Im stuck between buying a used frame and a new one...buying Used doesnt seem to have its benefits. RhinoDave 02-07-2004, 05:28 AM At this price about the only DS I would even look at is the Schwinn DS2. Check this one out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3658910850&category=22679 At least it's aluminum and has bearings in the pivots. I am looking for a XC frame size small, no wild jumps, 145lbs with gear, under $370 with shipping -- what if you know of a good frame for me, too?? RhinoDave 02-07-2004, 07:19 PM I guess I just assumed you meant dual suspension frames but if you're looking for a Dual slalom frame you might want to look at the K2's That ediscount bike is selling off now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3658768717&category=22679 The Brass Monkey is the nicest one but the Flying Monkey is a little cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3658844563&category=22679 PaintPeelinPbody 02-08-2004, 02:43 PM ok well, you guys tried to be helpful, but I did a ton of research and here's what I came up with. In case you dont know: Adrenalinebikes.com has on the largest quanity of frames for sale in the US. They have some nice DS/Urban/Jump bikes under 300 bucks. They also have many DH and XC frames for really good prices. They can also get you any bike you want for just about the same price as anywhere else, or perhaps even cheaper. Good selection of parts, including some used stuff they get one people trade in stuff for newer goods. I am getting a Azonic Steelhead for an undisclosed price, needless to say, they are extremely helpful in getting you what you want, the more you buy, the more they help. If your still after your DS frame, i can help you get into a Azonic Steelhead XL for under 2 Benjamin's. It's considered an urban assault frame, but the geometry mimics the DS frames from Azonic. questions...you can get hold of me off of the board at chad@redbarnbicycles.com MegaVolt 02-09-2004, 03:54 PM I guess I just assumed you meant dual suspension frames I did. I need a decent f/s cross-country frame. I first was thinking of Scwhinn Delta88, but the weight of 7.5lbs is a way too much for me. Is there any hope to find a decent frame that would fit my budget (again, $350-$370)? RhinoDave 02-09-2004, 04:19 PM I almost hate to keep coming back to K2's but as long as you're looking for a lighter XC full suspension frame for a good price then check this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3659814610&category=22679 There are several of these up for auction right now. A little over 5.5 lbs. and with lockout. It's listed as a medium but they tend to be sized a little small. The K2's have a pretty good reputation and I think the main reason you see so many of them after market is because K2 is dumping the excess inventory they kept on hand for warrenty claims that never happened. I am currently riding a K2 EVO that I've beat the snot out of for two years now with no problems.
