Sweet, our very own forum!

So I have been riding the Delirium for a few months now with the 66 that I temporarily had installed. The fork was a 2005 model which was a little tall for the frame but it still rode incredibly, however, going uphill wasn't always easy. I have been looking for a 66 sl1 and after getting ripped of on Ebay I picked up a Magura Wotan at my LBS. I have to say, after a ride around town I am very impressed with the Wotan, tomorrow I'm headed for the trails so we will see how it does. I have made a few other changes since i first built the DT so I will just go through and list the build:

Delirium T, Large, with Fox DHX Air
Magura Wotan
DtSwiss 5.1D / Hope Pro II wheelset
Maxxis High Roller up front, Minion DHR rear (both single-ply)
Michelin Aircomp Latex innertubes
Hope V2 front brake, 203mm disk
Hope Mono Mini rear brake, 200mm disk
FSA Orbit Xtreme Pro headset
Thomson Post
Thomson 50mm Stem
Easton MonkeyLite DH bars
ODI Rogue Grips
Sram X9 shifters
Sram X9 rear derailleur
Shimano XT front derailleur
Shimano XT Crank w/ 26T RaceFace chainring and 38T FSA chainring
RaceFace DH Bottom Bracket
Sram PG990 11-34 Cassette
Sram PC991 Chain
WTB Power V saddle
Atomlab Aircorp pedals

With this build she weighs in at a sexy 34-1/2 pounds

I am about 200 pounds with gear, 6' tall and 32" inseam
I got her set up with a short chainstay and the middle headangle setting.
The Fox DHX Air is set with the bottom out at 6 clicks from minimum, Propedal at 5 clicks from minimum, 100 PSI in the boost valve and 190 PSI in the air spring.
The Wotan has 60 PSI in the main chamber and the albert select is 8 clicks from minimum.

And now, onto the porn!!

300683
300684
300685
300686
300687

I just want to say thanks again to Noel, great guy and answered all the questions I could think of, I feel real great having that kind of service to back up this amazing bike.

Gruß,
Errol

When I bought the DT, I was a little nervous about the weight also, I decided to save as much with the rim/hub combo. The DTswiss/hope/sapim wheelset weighs in at about 1800 grams with rim tape. between the Single ply 2.5 Highroller and 2.35 minion tires and the tubes I saved another 1300g (almost 3lbs!) over the dual ply tires of the same width and conventional dh tubes. For lift riding I would probably just change out the wheels for a 6.1/dual ply/dh tube combo and ride all day without a worry but I have to say, with the combo I am running now, I havent had a single pinch flat. but then again, maybe I am not riding hard enough. :D

The Wotan has made a good first impression. I was on the trails this morning and it is incredibly stiff. Between the rear end of the DT and the Wotan it takes nothing short of a wall to take you off your line. The bike also felt more balanced with the wotan as the coil 66. I will have to ride it some more and then I will be ready with a full review.

Nice looking build flynnet. These D-T's will really climb with the right wheel/tire combo.

What do you mean? What year model was your 66?

Regarding weight.

My large ano D-T frame is 10.5 lbs with DHX-A
Bike fully built comes in at 36.6lbs

Will grab a few new shots and post with the build specs.
( specs already floating around in other forums )

And yes the Wotan is very stiff and is a great match with the D-T
Been a couple of "closes eyes, cause this is gonna hurt" moments, but damn if the bike did not just track true - just goes where you point it.
I swear if it could, it would "look over its shoulder" at me and give me the "that all you got punk" look.

Glad we got our own house, so who's got the Kool-Aide?

michael

...and yea, the Free-Radical gives me a funny feeling down there as well.

It was a 2005 model 66 vf. So the frame is laid out for a 540mm fork (minimum) and the 2005 66 was 595 tall and then a 10mm headset so the headangle was pretty slack and the bb was pretty high. I wanted the 2007 66sl1 and bring it down to 160mm travel for normal riding and crank it back up to 180 for the decents and lift service but after this ebay thing, I went with the wotan.

My friend had the same 66vf and that thing is pretty tall. Definitely would feel a bit squirrely on the climbs.
So what happened on ebay?

I paid for a 66 SL1 ATA and then the guy bailed. No longer registered on ebay. Scumbag, I dont know how people like that can get away with that. The guy probably ripped over 20 other people off with a total of way over 15,000 Euros in forks and frames.

Sorry to hear that, flynnet.
What a low life douche bag!!!
Someday it'll all swing around, and this loser would end up getting forked(forgive the pun) over, getting what he deserves.
