I was given a Homegrown and I have no idea what year model it is. What are some ways for me to tell if it was made by yeti or not and what year it was made, seeing as how schwinn does not incorporate any dating into the serial numbers. The pic is an under construction pic. It is finished. It's a frankenstein bike. (will update with parts list later)

looking at what i can from the rear seat yoke and the dull black color much like my "01 straight8, it may fall under 1999-2001 years. but dont quote me on that.... my guess would be yes on the yeti built
i'ld re-post this under the Yeti thread too they maybe able to help a little more

This particular bike is either a 2000 or 2001 model. The bike was made in Portland, OR and not in Durango, CO where the Yeti Homegrowns were made.

'97, '98, '99 Homgrown Factory frames ONLY were built by Yeti in Durango; look for bass boat (red/gold, blue/silver, black/gold, just blue) or darts (red/black) paint. The later '00, '01 anondized frames were not. But they are still awesome frames, even lighter than the Yeti frames.

That bike is definitely post-99, as it has disc tabs. I don't believe it is Yeti-made. Still, its a great, great frame. I've been beating on my (bassboat green) 99 homegrown since 2000, and it just keeps coming back for more. I love this bike.
