I am currently running a Swinger 3-Way coil on my 06, but was wondering what kinds of shocks others are running on their "classic" San Ans.
Since I'm asking; What kinds of forks are being run with these frames and with how much rear wheel travel ?

Remember that the more rear travel you have, the higher the BB will become, and the steeper the head angle, and then the heavy DH parts will end up on there.:nono:
I like a 7" x 1.75" shock with a pedaling platform to give 5.25" rear travel and still nice geometry. I like the Fox RP3 Air on my Fury, I assume the newer RP23 Air would be even better. Be reasonable.
I at one time had a monster San Andreas with 9.5" rear travel and an 8" Monster T. I think the BB height was about 19".:eekster: Lots of travel, but funky to ride and didn't turn very well.

I currently run a Swinger 3-way coil 7.5" X 2", which is stock for my DHS, with a 06 Minute 2 up front, with Platform Plus damping, which I like better than SPV, because it allows for a pedaling platform that is tunable on the trail without a pump. The Platform Plus damping is based on the old TPC, so you can have platform down to fully active at the turn of a dial. It works just as well as SPV, but without the hassles. The 06 Minute 2 also has a little taller axle to crown height for its 130mm travel, which seems to make for a good geometry.
The bike works well, and I asked the question only out of curiosity.
I sometimes wonder if I should have ordered the frame with the Fox Vanilla with Pro Pedal instead of paying extra for the Swinger 3-way.
I have a Swinger 3-way air, that would be a nice addition to the bike, but I don't have the money right now for new bushings and hardware.
