A buddy of mine is checking out film school in Vancouver, and invited me along for the roadtrip. I can't pass up a chance to take my downhill bike and ride the trails around there. We'll be heading to Whistler August 20-21.

Definitely interested in hooking up with some local riders to check out the trails on my first time at BC. Anyone up for riding that weekend?

Any recommendations on camping in the Whistler area?

Still checking out the web for all the trails in the Vancouver, North Vancouver, Whistler area, but figure I can't go wrong heading straight to Whistler.

I think whether you spend both days in Whistler or one day in Whistler and one day riding the North Shore you will be happy. For information on the Whistler bike park, check out www.whistlerblackcomb.com. If you're interested in information on other trails in town, asking at a bike shop will probably be your best option. The same applies for riding on the North Shore - a store like the Cove or John Henry's will be able to provide you with the trail info you're looking for.

As for camping, the only campground in Whistler is the Riverside Campground (I'm not sure what their website is). Hope this info helps. I'm sure you'll have an amazing time.
