I demo'd a Hi-FI Deluxe today, rode about 10 miles, and have (2) concerns regarding it's handling. 1)The front tire washed out very easily at moderate- high speeds. I assume maybe the stock bontager tire was the reason for this, but curious if any purchasers experienced this same issue and solved it by changing to a different tire. I don't know what pressure I was running as the lbs had set up the bike for me.2) The bottom bracket seems low. I had a constant problem with my pedals hitting rocks, roots, etc.. When I got home I compared it to my current ride, and it was about 1" lower. Any owners out there share these same issues? With the exception of the above, the bike rode well, but these issues give me some pause about whether it's the right bike for me.

Yep, the stock tires suck and the bb is on the low side at 12.8". Replace the stock tires with some meatier rubber will improve the handling and raise the bb a little bit. If you do a lot of chunky rocky climbs might look for a higher bb. I put a 145 mm Nixon on my HiFi after I broke the damping on the Minute and like the higher bb on the rocky climbs.

Swap the tires. I haven't had an issue with the Jones XR's, but I don't trust them like I did my old Maxxis Ignitors, either.
The bottom bracket is lower than my Klein Attitude was. I have hit my pedals on a few rocks so now I am a bit more careful when the trail gets rocky.
I set my rear shock at 145-150 psi, and I am 190 lbs and that works great for a more XC riding style.

Hi,When I purchased my HI-FI I rode it for about a week before checking any pressures to break in the brakes & so forth & when I checked the fork setting I found that the pressure was jacked up very high( This may be the problem),So I put about 30% of my weight in air in the forks (After a call to Answer about which fork model to use for settings which is the Nixon)& the plowing was almost gone,I played with a pound or two less & changed the rebound & now it's real good.
On the rear I went with what the factory card recommends. As far as tires I turned those into the tubless & changed the rear to a Revolt X & they hold very well & roll fast & setting the pressure at 2 bars

I switched out the XRs for Bontrager AC-X tires when I got the bike, having heard bad things about XR. I think it's a racing tire -- more emphasis on low friction thatn on traction. AC-X are great!
