im considering a new bike, and i was wondering if anyone out there has a gf piranha and knows how much it weighs. ive read that theyre light, and i was just wondering how light "light" meant. id prefer to get as light of a bike as i can, but not too light seeing as i dirt jump and do all mountain riding occasionally.:cornut: :cornut: :cornut:

I had the pre-Piranha Piranha. They released them the year before the launch as a special edition Marlin up here in Canada. I remember it wasn't super light...something around 30 lbs...but it held up to my Clyde butt pedaling it around pretty hard. I only remember that as it was dang close to what my Cake 2DLX weighed.

I have a Pirahna.
They are not super light, probably around 27 to 29 lbs. I don't do any dirt jumping, but the bike has yet to break.
You'll probably want to replace the saddle, or see if you can get a differant one thrown on as part of the deal

I purchased the bike to get into the sport, and so far it has handled everything I've thrown at it. Just because of where I am now, its time to upgrade the pedals to clipless and purchase new tires. Otherwise, I'm very happy with everything else.

ive been wanting a haro escape sport, and since it only weighs 3 pounds more, has better components, and a bigger fork, ill pay an extra 100$. thanks for the help though!!!

I second the durability of the pirahana I have beat the crap out of it and it has stood up well. it's pretty light but not race XC light.

I have enjoyed my GF Piranha, don't know the weight don't really care. I actually just rode it into work today for the first time. I just might have to do this every "casual" Friday that has nice weather.
I also wanted to post up a pic, hey what's a post without a pic? Let's show off that beautiful paint job:

Ahhh... Nice, shiny, and new.
Mine looks a little different these days as I've added a new saddle, Candy C pedals, and dirt. Otherwise it's stock and still going strong.
