Since I blew my minute fork a few days ago I put a 145mm Nixon Platinum Intrinsic fork on my HiFi (Greenfish $320). I was worried it might not ride well because of the G2 thing, but I am digging it.

There has been a little loss in turning precision -- as there would be with any bike bumping up travel by an inch(Axel to Crown height really by 20mm). The head angle is about a degree slacker by rule of thumb and the bottom bracket height has been increased by at least 1/2 inch and definitely feels taller.

The bike climbs better up the steep and rocky stuff. My pedals aren't hitting so many rocks with the higher bb. It feels more solid and less easily deflected in the rock gardens as well -- after a couple 15 mile rides with chunky teck and steep slopes. Did several 3 ft. drops to flat with ease, frame failure my ass. I'll keep riding the nixon at least til the minute comes back with the warranty repairs, but it could be a permanent switch since I ride alot of rocks.

How long did it take Manitou to repair/replace your fork?

Since they are just finishing their move to WI, I am still waiting -- a month so far:rolleyes:

My shock was shipped to them about six days ago. If it takes more than a couple of weeks I'll take a Fox fork off aother bike that I have and install it on the HIFI. I hope that since they have completed their moved the turn around time will decrease. Good luck with getting your fork back.
