View Full Version : ride this sunday in parramatta wotzapollohimalaya 06-17-2004, 05:35 AM i am going for a quick blast at parramatta lake reserve this sunday... around 11:30.... anyone else interested wotzapollohimalaya 06-20-2004, 05:08 PM wow, this is a great little track... about 7.8kms return to the entrance of the park :D nice technical ascents/descent, mix of firetrails and single track and some fast quick downhills sections... i actually prefer it to manly dam... but that's me... lots of hardcore decents... rocks/dirt/rubble to test out ur skillz also since i went last about 3 yrs ago, there are some new tracks around anyone done this track? i think i will go exploring and see if i can work out where the other tracks lead to this would be a great track to try going full bore without emptying you tank too much to get home... a quick 1.5 hour adrenaline rush slamdunk 06-20-2004, 06:56 PM Access on this trail is a bit touchy I've heard. A lot of the tracks are actually on land owned by The Kings School, and they haven't been too keen on me riding there whenever I've run into people from Kings. Andy © 06-21-2004, 12:07 AM Apparently you can do a ride that links from Statham Ave, North Rocks and this joins up with the trail that loops around Lake Parramatta. At the bottom of the "big dipper" on Statham Ave theres tracks that run either side of the road......the one on the side that runs towards Carlingford really doesnt go too far...it looks like theyre still working on this (its very sandy where they`ve dug away the vegetation) and it goes about 400metres before a creek crossing runs off to the right (unpassable as the creek is about 4 feet deep)....then theres some really narrow single track that veers to the left...i didnt follow this as was running out of time. The track that runs on the Lake Parramatta side of Statham Ave apparently runs all the way down to Lake Parra, but I`ve yet to try this myself. If you go up into Carlingford there`s some very nice singletrack that twists, winds, and links with numerous other bits of singletrack.....i`ve walked this track but have yet to ride it......It can be accessed from North of Carlingford West Primary School. jeff_red 09-11-2004, 11:20 PM Ummm yeah.. I think Im a bit late to make your trip.. Did the Track today... Great fun... Was my second time on a mountain bike so a little too technical for me at the moment... lots of walking and carrying.. Loads of fun though.. that last down hill from from the top of the dam is a hoot.. :D Anyone here do this track on a regular basis? how long would be a average time to do the circuit.. (car park to, car park) apsilon 09-13-2004, 10:27 PM FWIW I was there last Sat and was told by a couple of rangers that signs would be posted shortly banning MTBs. They did say the area across the "lake" would remain open with access from North Rocks Rd but I figure it's only a matter of time. |
