We might be generationally challenged - as in old, but we do a lot of riding in the area that is not club oriented. In other words, we never know where we are going till the last minute. Primarily, we ride Bent Creek, DuPont, Mills River and the areas in-between.

We be Hollis, Hyperdawg and anyone else that can go at my pace. Let me know if you ever want to sharpen your slow motion skills!

:DI'm the Hollis to which she refers.
Mum and I share a common ride philosophy:
We ride our bikes, to ride our bikes.
No Race ya to the top.
No Death marches.
No Gab fests with short rides in between (Hello SpokeJunkies :p).
We like to cover a respectable area at a respectable pace,
we like to keep our wheels spinning,
20-30 miles isnt uncommon.
Let me know if you're interested in a relaxed pace guide.

p.s. Sometimes, I stop for photos :)

Well said! I get up there a few times a year and I share the same philosophy, although 30 miles in Pisgah would take my out-of-shape arse the better part of a day to complete. I'm never above stopping for a snack, or just to take in the view while I rest though.
I may have to look you guys up in a future trip. Awesome!

Hey, I think I'm from the bizarro world. We race to the top and then stand around and gab. In fact, we're so bad at this, we had the words and a graphic of "the tortoise and the hare" printed on our "club" jerseys.
Story: we were riding trace ridge and kept passing this newbie-looking couple. They would pass us back when we stopped to fix a mech or wait on straglers or crash or whatever. This happened 3 or 4 times and finally one of my friends yells out "tortoise and the hare" in what he thought was a friendly, self-denegrating way. The girl gives him the eat-s#%$ look and it's been a group joke ever since.

Hey again. Those 20-30 miles do sound like a lot of fun but i dunno how long it usually takes you guys and when you do them and what time you start so if you could give me a lil more 411 on everything that goes on if you could thanks a lot! TJ
