I believe GF goes to production in July for 2008 bikes. Anybody know when the earliest one could expect delivery on a 2008 bike? Apparently GF is sold out of XL Hi Fi Pro's for 2007. No more until 2008. Did anybody on this list receive in 2007 model last july or august?

I believe Trek 2008 models will be available in August, I assume this applies to GF as well.

MOST 08 Models don't start showing up in shops until AFTER interbike in September. There are a few models that may be set for "early release", but they are usually few and far between, and it's anybody's guess which they will be. Usually early release bikes are the "hot sellers" that they run out of in the 07 model run. But you never know. Bike manufacturers don't produce all models all the time like automobile manufacturers. They aren't "big" enough facility wise to do it. So they schedule production runs. They may build Race Days for a few weeks, then jump to Hi Fi's. And it's not just MTB's they have to schedule, they do it with ALL their US and Foriegn manufactured frames. So it's really almost impossible to tell when a specific model will start showing up in your LBS. I work for a shop and there are no release dates yet for ANY 08 models. Generally we can get a very select few by late August. But not many and they are usually lower end bikes to boot. And the full line won't be available until right around mid October to early November. So don't hold your breath.

Trek UK are giving dealers due dates for '08 bikes, why is the US different? Looks like some models are out until September, madness!

BTW, although there are expected production dates everything is still going to be very vague at the moment and I wouldn't have any faith at all in the dates Trek are giving. Things can easily slip by a couple of months at this stage.

Hmm.. thanks for all the info.. I saw today in the current Mountain Bike Action magazine inside from cover an ad from Gary Fisher about a new Hi Fi Pro Carbon 23.x lb bike, available July. It says 'Orders taken on a first come first serve' basis. I wonder if 'Available July' means 'orders taken' in july or delivery expected in july.. I'm trying to find a bike to ride the leadville 100 with. I'm thinking im going to end up just doing it hardtail.
