When I was researching buying a Tracer I couldn't find one website dedicated to them - and certainly hardly any pictures.

With the Tracer being retired I am going to build this site.

I would really appreciate it if Tracer owners could send pictures/specs to my email at bb3893@bris.ac.uk If possible, I would like to know the model year. You can write blurb about your Tracer and your experiences on her if you'd like; at the very least your photos will be credited to you.

It's a modern classic and it needs to be commemorated.

Guys, thanks for the response.

My Tracer was stolen about 2 weeks after I started this post :( After it was stolen my heart has fallen out of the project TBH.

I'm really sorry.

Blippo ~

When you get another bike - and I know you will, soon- try using an ABUS Steel-O-Flex 1000 armoured cable. It's German made, and much lighter than a chain, plus, it's a pretty awesome deterrent to bike thieves.

Had a lock :(

They bust into a locked shed and then cut through what I had locked it too - they stole about 5 grands worth (10000 US dollars) of bike in the end.

Cnuts..

That's hard to defend, man!

I had my first f/s bike - a Jamis Dakar, lifted from my buddy's 2nd story balcony.

Then, in spring '02, some dudes tried to lift my '02 Tracer whilst I was 'watering the daisies' off the trail. It was at Austin's Barton Creek Greenbelt again [see mtbreviews trail reviews] - a pedestrian first/ mountain bike second trail.
--These punks thought that I was far enough into the woods, so as to start examining my bike - their eyes focused on the trail for possible witnesses. I rushed out and took back my bike.
"You guys ought to know better than F***ing with another dude's bike!" I said.
They were a brash group of punks who really didn't seem to care that I knew their intentions. No sweat from me...I always sport on my MicroTech SOCOM Elite switchblade on my hydration pack.
Stand up for what belongs to you!

I'm sorry that some 'scheister' got yours!

Keep your chin up, chap! ...And if GOD is ever kind enough that you see the your stolen bike on the trail... Whip up on that Punk-Ass-Chump!
