Does it have lockout?

its the 289, no lockout.

That sucks, that's like the only dissapointing thing for me with this bike (so far, I'm actually waiting for ups right now). Is it upgradeable with a cartridge or do you have to go for the poplock?

I'm confused because on bikesdirect they were offering the poplock upgrade as an option, but on the rockshox site, they don't list that as an option for the 289???

You know I just looked at the poplock upgrade - http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/parts/tora_poplockupgrade.htm - and it mentions the inclusion of a lockout cartridge. I have a SID race, which does not have lock out, but reading the owners manual - it covers the race, team, and WC as well, it looks like it's just a cartridge difference between them in regards to the pop lock function.

I found the one for the SID in there. I don't really happen to notice the absence of lock out. I tried several bikes with and without and it really didn't affect my decision.
