Well, I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I just bought my first bike in 10 years. I used to be in BMX pretty hardcore in junior high and the beginning of high school, but then cars and girls became more important. I've had some friends wanting me to get into light XC riding with them and I finally gave in. I bought a 2008 Motobecane 400DS. It's not the best, but it will serve it's purpose to get me back in the door. I kind of waivered a bit when reading all the guys bash them, but for a sub400 bike you CANNOT beat it. I've got to go to my LSB and pick up a helmet and gloves and I'll be set. I plan on riding FDR park (rated the best in the midwest by most riders) here in Dubuque and heading to Levis Mound this summer in northern Wisconsin. It's about 2 miles from where I go every summer to fish. Should be a good time. I've already learned alot lurking here for 3 days. I hope to get alot more info and help in the future.

Congratulations !!!!! Don't listen to those bashers just because they ride a Carbon Rush or something. I got my Moto a couple of years ago and even though I race with a Scalpel, the Moto is my favorite. I've gone through 6 bikes in the last couple of years, kept 2, my Moto for recreation and Scalpel for racing. Believe me, it can hang with the rest of them, recreation wise. Not unless you are serious about XC Racing, your bike will do just fine. Happy Trails..........
