I'll bet the thundershowers you guys had means the FS guys did not have to come out to water them down? Nat 06-05-2004, 09:56 PM Oh, I am soooo there next Thursday... (After the two laps up to the helipad and back.) :) More, more! I'll bet the thundershowers you guys had means the FS guys did not have to come out to water them down? The jumps were blocked off today (note the dead tree and branches lying across the trail) so I didn't try any of them. I wonder if it'll be ready to ride when you get here? As you're pulling into Phil's trailhead area, it's off to your right, way up the old dirt road. It's going to be a lot of fun when finished. It looks like it's going to be a decent length too. The heavy rain did some damage. On today's ride, there were rain ruts right down the center of the singletrack on most of my loop. A lot of loose sand washed onto the trails in several places unfortunately. The conditions are still pretty decent though, but a bit looser than last week. I only snapped one pic today. SeenYour Crash 06-07-2004, 02:06 PM Nat I encourage you (and the rest of you local lurkers) to come on out on Wed afternoon and Saturday morning and help us finish off the "Slalom Play Loop". The moisture we've got is perfect for packing it in and getting it rideable. There's plenty of work to do we need your help! But please stay off it until its armored and packed, especially in the mud. There's been hours worth of damage done by curious riders with their bikes and hardsoled cycling shoes! Looking forward to a big crew on Wed. :D Nat 06-07-2004, 05:22 PM Nat I encourage you (and the rest of you local lurkers) to come on out on Wed afternoon and Saturday morning and help us finish off the "Slalom Play Loop". I made sure to stay off of the features while under construction, since I want it in good shape for everybody. I was hoping to catch someone working on it last saturday, but didn't see anyone. The barriers were pretty obvious, so anyone riding it knew full well they should not have been. I'm unlikely to be able to join you this wednesday due to stupid work, but maybe saturday or the following wednesday I could. I'd love to provide some labor! Borneo 06-07-2004, 07:30 PM Still planning on coming by Saturday. Either before the ride or on the way back as we'll be coming down Mrazek to Shevlin and heading back across to the trailhead. tberg 06-08-2004, 02:31 PM Definitely. Todd TWISTED 06-14-2004, 05:35 PM Do those jumps keep going down that trail off into the distance? Looks like fun. Nat 06-15-2004, 06:37 AM Do those jumps keep going down that trail off into the distance? Looks like fun. Not quite, but it looks as if it'll be a hundred yards long once finished, based on the digging that has happened so far. Okay, when I went back and looked at it today, I realized that it'd be much more than a hundred yards long. More like a 1/4 mile long actually. TWISTED 06-20-2004, 02:08 AM Looks cool. I've been looking for downhill trails with big doubles like 40' and up. BoogerPEZ 06-21-2004, 03:19 PM Here's some info on the new jump trail: http://www.cotamtb.org/newtrails.php |
