View Full Version : What tires for SS & Snow?
Drevil 01-29-2004, 09:50 AM Since I know there will be the inevitable politico-socio-econo-religion post on the Passion board, I wanted to strike here first with an ill-placed post! :D
This means you, IconoclaSSt! :p
Kidding aside, it's cool that they created this section, although I don't know how much I'll check it.
CraigH 01-29-2004, 10:08 AM Since I know there will be the inevitable politico-socio-econo-religion post on the Passion board,....
I've been told to move those here.
BTW, George beat you by 16 hours.

my other post here isn't a shot at you guys Craig, hope you understand that. I just can't understand how we can blow off a bmx forum (which is arguably only one degree of separation from mtb) and yet our political views have a place all their own. Bikes taking a backseat to political opinions is a rather slippery slope if you ask me (which you didn't).
Peace man.
Scott (being apolitical whenever possible)
CraigH 01-29-2004, 11:33 AM I didn't take it personally.
I think they deleted the BMX board as it didn't get used very much.
Eg.
4 threads in the month of Jan.
http://forums13.consumerreview.com/crforum?14@@.ee9647d
(Looks like trials disappeared too.)
6 theads in Jan.

I didn't know about it, and wasn't asked.
Passion and General has always had people posting Political/Religous threads and previously the only mod. option was to delete, now they can be moved to their own board so they don't swamp the bike threads. I'm guessing it was added as sort of an administrative tool, someplace to put threads that don't belong on Passion & General.
I expect that this board won't get that much use, because if people really want to talk about this kind of stuff there are better boards to discuss these sort of topics.
Also, the road bike board has an equivalent board and it apparently works quite well. They've had theirs for quite some time.
namaSSte 01-29-2004, 12:41 PM I completely agree with the idea of having this board to discuss non bike stuff and I also do understand about the bmx and trials. Im just bummed to see them go and figured (perhaps (and apparently) incorrectly) that more folks here were into one or both.
C'est la vie! Thanks for all the great mod work Craig, in my will I'll leave you a lego baseball cap.
CraigH 01-29-2004, 12:51 PM LOL!
Story of the lego guy, LeeL who posts on Passion told me during a trail day that I put rocks together like lego when we were armouring a trail. Since I used to play with lego as a kid, I liked the idea.
francois 01-29-2004, 03:00 PM You think this is a cycling board or something?
Unless you got something to say about gun control, abortion, euthanasia, george dubya, the taliban etc, you better watch yosef mistah!
mwa-ha-ha. Power to the off-topic!

gregg 01-29-2004, 03:08 PM Is it politically correct to type a subject line, anymore?
LOL!

Craig, I too wondered about that Avitar character (I act like I'm informed about an Avitar now after "someone" advised me). I couldn't tell it was Legos. Your trail repair pic definitely looks like a classic "evil grin" mode to me. Remember, it's not nice to fool mother nature--or defeat her. That's some nice work there. You gotta appreciate folks who put their elbow grease into their sport. We don't get as much rain/erosion here in my area as you folks probably do in BC, but it sure does help to make proper repairs when necessary. Be careful, Craig...being nice, responsible, and level-headed in this day and age may be politically incorrect...LOL!
namaSSte 01-30-2004, 06:33 AM You think this is a cycling board or something?
lol! I dropped that disillusionment years ago!!!!!
btw, that Sheen-esque Ultralord avatar rules! Obviously I have kids but even they don't fully appreciate the wit of a such a fine actor as Sheen. Deli item legged phantoms, unite!!!!!!!
Scott (clearly going through some "issues")
CraigH 02-02-2004, 11:10 AM I like doing trail work, but man am I beat afterwards!
Let me know if you make it up here, and we'll do some rides.

Just discovered this board, so give me some time...
Why post politico-socio-econo-religion topics here? Much more fun to post 'em where they "aren't allowed"...that's the only way to reach a new audience! :p
Get anything at the swap?
.

Glad Craig straightened you out before I came over here and showed you what's what. :D
I was also the first person to place a flame bait post on www.fark.com for the year 2004. I'm such a looser.
