Lets get things goin in the Texas forum. I'm an electrical engineer student at Texas A&M. The only trail I know of around here is Lake Bryan. It's pretty good cross country trail. My home is Grapevine(DFW) where I ride Northshore trail on Grapevine Lake. I really like that trail.
Lets get some more people in here. Anyone else in CollegeStation/Bryan? Do you know of any other trails in the area?
Brandon.

Brandon, One of my riding buddies here in Abilene, TX rides occasionally there with his brother-in-law--likes it. We have a really good trail of about 12 miles with some decent technical stuff on some city property that some of us have built on the north side of Abilene. Had some guys from Austin who were very good riders try our trail and were totally impressed. It ain't Moab, but it's got a good deal of very fun stuff. I've yet to try Northshore, but a couple of the guys I work with have ridden it. They enjoyed it a lot. How far is Smithville from you? I don't think you're too far from it. It is supposed to be a good one.

Hey guys for some real mountain biking you guys should try our trails in El Paso. We have the Fraklin Mountain state park with a 22 mile loop with lots of technical riding. There are also new trails being made in Horizon City east of El Paso with many downhill trails with up to 10 foot drops. There is also a short xc trail there as well with many more trails being built. So any other local riders in here?

4 post and none of us live within 100 miles of each other. I am in Dallas and ride the Northshore trail at Grapevine lake all the time. Check out WWW.DORBA.ORG its' a pretty good sight to find out about the trails in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. Anybody know about the trail that goes through the Davy Crockett National Forest? I've heard it's epic, about 40 miles long. Anyone else riding the Ouachita Challenge in Ark. in March? Its a 60 mile endurance ride/race on some of the best trails in the country.

I used to live in CS but I transfered up to UNT(now I live in the Keller/Southlake area and ride North Shore all the time). So I've ridden all over aTm, infact I used to work at Valley Cyclery by Best Buy. Lake Bryan is fun, if you get tired of it do the west loop. Other than that we used to go out to Rockyhill Ranch out near Austin...its only an hour and a half drive and its way worth it. I bet you could ask around at the shops or at a cycling team meeting for directions. As far is trails in college station...I dont know any others but the campus is great for street riding and slamin down stairs.

Hey, dude. Valley was my LBS. Closed down now, since the owner has gone back to school. No more Valley :( The west loop is overgrown but we're slowly getting it ridable again. Ditto on the campus riding. I like to ride stairs and the parking garages (as you know, no hills around here).

What about Mount Aggie??? :D
Actually I think it was taken down when they built that parking garage. I was in Texas over New Year's and rode at MacAllister Park and OP Schnabel in San Antonio and enjoyed both. I had planned on riding at Rocky Hill Ranch but ran out of time - next time. I wish there would have been a Mtn Biking Course at A&M when I was there (1985-1990).
I'll have to ride Lake Bryan the next time I'm in town.
