I will be out that way about the 26th of June and want to get a ride in the day before or after. Can someone hook me up with some trail info or a shop that can give me some ride Ideas? And also should I bring my 40lb freeride bike or my DS xc bike?
thanks for any help,

actually live in fredericksburg-and you're coming to an area with some of the best riding in the state. if you only have one day of riding, go to jimmy dreiss' flat rock ranch(www.flatrockranch.net) in comfort, tx. it's about 35 minutes by car from fred and about the best in the area. $6 gets you in and plenty of well marked trails-about 25 miles worth. lots of loose over hardpack, climbing and fast descents. hill country natural area up fm1077 in bandera is great too. as is kelly creek in ingram(outside of kerrville). roberts ranch(ymca) between fred and comfort-is fun, fast, similar terrain. brand new course at tapatio springs is about 45 minutes away and may be sight of next year's norba opener. there's a lot more riding than you could do in a few days, but those are some of the best. fred's got some great eating, wineries/beer, enchanted rock, rivers, and some great road riding as well, so you'll have options after riding. shameless plug, but also own a bed and breakfast-www.dascollegehaus.com and like to cater to the cycling crowd. can point you in the right direction as req'd. and the ds/xc bike is probably the best choice if limited to one bike.
