Everyweekend? What about all the other trails that you can hit for free. HITG, Pinecrest Downhill, 007, Cape Horn to Slickrock trial.... and the others.

Francis - We're doing SDF tomorrow starting at 8:30am. You're more than welcome to join along with anyone else that wants to come along. There are currently 3 of us. We usually do 2 loops.

Let me know.

Curious as to where SDF is and what does it stand for? I'm up in the north bay but have a buddy that lives in Saratoga and am down there several times a year.

Soquel Demonstration Forest, above Nisene Marks State Park off Summit/HIghland Way

Epic riding.

Did Ridge/Braille/Sulphur/Aptos Crk Rd home to Santa Cruz a few weeks ago. Braille is in good shape, not too muddy and cleared of all downed trees/branches. Wish I could join you. Happy trails...

Has anyone checked out some of the trails that appear to be popping up. The best direction that I could give would be after climbing up Ormsby, and going thru the gate into Nisene.... between that gate and the entry onto the ridge trail, there appears to be 2 trails that have been carved out on the right? Not sure what they are and they don't appear on the map. Was thinking about checking them out soon...

Thanks for the info. Read all about it and it looks like some great riding. Was reading about surrounding areas as well. I'd really like come down and check it out sometime.

For those that went hope it's not raining hard like it is up here. Mud can be fun but yesterday was so awesome I'm content being a couch potato on a rainy super bowl Sunday.

This forum is a great feature, francis. Good to know who/what is going on locally!

I live in the East bay, my usual rides are Briones, Diablo, Pleasanton Ridge, Rockville, Marin stuff (china camp, rancho) and Annandel. Weekends I will go anyhwere that looks fun. I also have ridden a bit in SoCal over the last year.

I have only been riding for about one year but it's the funnest thing I have even gotten into. You already knew that though :)

Same as Francis. Although I like Jones/Kennedy and I don't ride UCSC much.
Taking the time to ride SDF is always worthwhile.

my name is Steve and I am going to be in the your hood this weekend...any riding going on this weekend?....I mean real riding on dirt? I was thinking of hitting Waterdog for some fun loops on Saturday but what is the real scoop for this weekend? Hmmmmm

When I am not visiting the Bay Area I am here in Auburn CA. The heart of Gold Country. There is lotsa riding up here and the locals love to share the wealth. I like to ride my SS most of the time (read all the time since I still don't have a geary put together). I really like to ride in Tahoe most of all....can't wait till summer!

I like to stir the pot on forums now and then but....really I am all about the riding and I am not such a bad guy either. yeah right!:p

Three year old thread and talking abour rides this weekend . . . oy. Passion Trail Bikes is leading three Waterdog rides this weekend (one for each year?). Saturday 10AM and 1:30 from the shop, and Sunday 1.

Point wasn't about the rides, it was regarding just how things have progressed so much with this forum, the bikes, etc-etc over just such a short period of time, that's all.

Francis, and everyone else have done a lot with things, just a smile and nod about all of it.

Three years ago the forums were a little different, no youtube linking, surly bikes forum, bunch of other stuff too, like group rides, events, all of it.

I'm amazed his first post isn't archived yet, I joined originally around the same time, but somehow the membership got dropped, and apparently all my old posts are either archived somewhere or lost, as the farthest back it goes is only to 2006??

(The "Hey I'm..." does sound like a "Five Step Program to MTBR" though, huh? LOL!!
