Jeez- from the looks of it, I could buy a complete LX crank/chainring set for the price of a med & large chainring set.

Where to buy? I think I'll check Jensen ;) , but will listen to any ideas.

What do you need? I've scored many times on Ebay and have a decent stockpile. Also try frankfordbikes.com and sometimes Nashbar.

So far, Nashbar's got the cheapest- med and large for $50 (for both).

Still too much

Thanks,

The newer LX 572 crankset can be found for $70....$63 or so with coupon at Nashbar. That is cheaper than new rings for my Raceface Crankset and the new LX is comparably stiff and lightweight. Someone posted a review that compared stiffness of cranks a little while ago and the new LX faired very well. It was a best value. Add in the money you can get back from selling your old used crankset on eBay and it is a no brainer. When the rings wear out on this LX crankset I'll simple replace the whole thing....well, maybe I'll invest in a $12 CroMolly granny...but that is it.

The LX rings will work. $25 each at Frankfordbike and no sales tax. These are the 4 bolt. I am still using NOS 5 bolt compact drive stuff. If you need them, let me know. Otherwise, as the other poster said, maybe just shag the whole crankset.
