The Cowan frame in the catalog and site is an early preproduction version that is different from the actual final production model.

Contrary to the official photo, here are the actual final specs:
Bottom bracke - photo incorrectly shows BMX style. It's really just a 68mm regular mtb BB.
Rear Axle - photo incorrectly shows 12mm thru axle. The frame comes with a convential 9mm quick release. The rear dropouts are still removable and slideable for quick conversion to SS.
Rotor/Gyro Mounts - the official does not show the rotor/gyro mount tabs. The final version DOES have these.

Hi there

Where did you get your info: Do you have the frame?

Yes, I ride a Cowan.

So my info is first hand experience.
The 12mm thru axle is supposed to be offered as an option in the near future I was told by my LBS.

I will post a pic as soon I get my camera back, I lent it out.

Not mine, but some Cowan frames from Pinkbike gallery that show the final production version...

Can you run a 1.5 fork on this bike?
also
Have you tried disc brakes yet on this frame? I have tested frames with a similar brake boss design and when you hit the brakes the boss twists in the slot where the screws go.
