Howdy y'all,
I'm thinking about hitting Taneum Creek loop followed by Rat Pac on Sunday . Anyone ride this lately? Any suggested routes? I'd like to get about 15+ miles in.

Taneum Creek-Or Taneum Rollers is an area used by the ATV crowd a lot. My guess is that trail conditions are pretty fast. It gets pretty dustly later in the year. I might go up and check it out later today. I know the Eburg down hill crowd likes to run it. I only went down once and busted my seat so I was bummed out.

Map looks ok. I think the Taneum Rollers or the Taneum Ridge is what you are looking for . Park at the Junction as indicated. Mile 00. Pedal up the road 4.7 miles. Dont forget to take the low road right after you start, its marked on the map. If you stay on the main road you just go over a hill and back down, so save some energy. At 4.7 miles the road 3300 meets the Taneum Ridge Trail The map has you skipping the ridge. Those are the "Taneum Rollers" that downhillers and free riders like to hit. I have only rode the lower portion-today in fact. Its single track and is used also by dirt bikes. It can be as fast as you want it. If you decide to do Rat Pac its a longer tighter trail with some stunts in it. Rat Pac is also strictly a mountain bike trail-these trails are multi-use. My guess is 1377 to 1378 trail is a bit more cross country. If you are running a down hill shuttle you will be going down 1363. Down side to the Taeum Roller is that they are out in the middle of nowhere. Rat Pac is a short hop over to Roslyn for refreshments.

Awesome! Thanks for the low down. We're definitely heading up Sunday morning. We won't be doing a shuttle since we'll only have one car. Refeshments? What? Who needs em. We should be okay. Actually, I would like to hit Rat Pac later that day.

"My guess is 1377 to 1378 trail is a bit more cross country." About how many miles would that be?

If you just take the Road 3300/Taneum Ridge Rollers/Taneum Ridge trail 1363 down your mileage is 4.7 up and 4.5 down for a total of 9.2. The loop ride is 14.98 and I am guessing the extra miles just give you a longer down hill/not as steep. You start the ride at 2800 feet, at 4.7 miles and Taneum Ridge you are at 4200. If you go down the Ridge/Rollers you drop 1400 feet in 4.5 miles. If you skip Taneum Ridge Trail and continue the loop you drop the same elevation of 1400 feet, but you have spread it over 10.2 miles and the total is 14.98 miles including the uphill leg.

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to check out the new terrain.

Haven't ridden much south of 90, but am planning on checking this area out soon.

Here's some more maps of the area... http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/cle-elum-orv/orv-maps.html

Have fun and please tell us know where the snow was, if any, and what you thought of the terrain.

Thanks! Maybe some other time. All of a sudden, I'm riding locally.
