Im an aggresive XC kinda guy who likes long rides with tons of ups and downs.
Im 5'8 and 170lbs
Im looking at the Intense SL and the Tracer.
I wana buy just the frame cuz I will build it my self.
Im also looking the 5spot but it might be too heavy and pricy.
What other frames can i throw in here?
Thanks, and also what size will I need?

5 Spot and Uzzi SL should be almost equivalent weight wise. I would probably avoid the SL due to possible support problems now that its been discontinued for a while. 5 Spot should also pedal much better due to the shock.

If much climbing, then the Tracer frame is lighter, 6.2 lbs with air shock, and can be adjusted to have a more climbing fit and be more tight single track oriented. SL is about the same or slightly heavier than the 5 Spot with the same shock. And like the Tracer the SL rides best with non-platform shocks but also rides very well with them for those coming off hardtails liking firmer handling. They are both much more adjustable for conditions than any other bike in there travel range. Too bad Intense doesn’t want to manage the capacity required to continue producing them. The 5 Spot is a great bike too.

The Tracer is based on the Uzzi SL with a shorter wheelbase, and tighter angles. Haven ridden both the tracer is the better of the two. The Uzzi really is a pig uphill but descends like its on rails. The tracer climbs better and descending prowlness is as good as the Uzzi.
When i lived in OC i rode everything on the tracer. Its just a good bike..period.
