Hey you guys, I want to eventually get a Specialized P.1 when I have the money, and I was wondering, Why the 26" wheel up front? What do you guys do with that? It has a 24" in the back, and a 26" in the front, like my bighit, and I was wondering why. Why not just double 24's?

You could get a 24" hoop up front if you WANTED to.

I enjoy the feel of a 24" in back with a raised front. Whatever's comfortable for you.

Ya, I'll probably just stay with the 26".

I don't know man, I have run dual 24s for quite some time and feel like they can't be beat for park and urban. Quicker and more durable.

the 24 in the rear allows for a tighter rear and handles quicker. but it also slacks out the head tube

true but you can offset that with the 2-4 up front and/or dropping the fork to 80mm or less. for park, street, and dj, I think that's the way to go!

I just resently got a specialized P.1 and i love it.I think there is a 26" in front because of how the frame is.But its up to u if you want to have double 24" rims.

although some might call me retarded for doing so, i cannot handle a high front end, and would probably do whatever i had to to lower the front end (means upsidedown stem, chopped fork, and yes 24" front wheel)

You could either rebuild your wheel to a new rim with new spokes, or buy a new wheel altogether.

I think the second option is your best. You'll get a higher quality wheel and you won't have to go through rebuilding your wheel.
