Its designed to use a 10mm axle but I ran a qr on mine. I ran it singlespeed and used the dropout screws to get the chain pretty tight. Its ghetto but once its setup your wheel shouldn't move. Its a good enough fix untill you buy a bolt on hub. And if you're running it geared, you have to get a bolt on hub. atomrcrkhsbiker 04-30-2006, 05:33 PM just get bolt on, you won't regret it:D cake96861 04-30-2006, 06:41 PM Ya I just dont feel like buying the hub, and then paying to get the wheel laced.....Id do it myself, but i dunno how to...... there isnt like a spacer you can buy to make it like a 10mm? XSL_WiLL 04-30-2006, 07:20 PM 10mm bolt-on? It's just an axle... All Shimano hubs and most other loose ball bearing hubs can be fitted with a bolt-on axle. Hubs using sealed cartridge bearings will have to use a different axle depending on bearing placement. QR hubs are still 10mm. dd13 04-30-2006, 07:36 PM could u use sulry tugnuts or something similar? cummings 05-01-2006, 01:17 PM I just had a Morphine built up and I used a Shimano FH-M475 hub (stock rear on Kona Stuff 2006) and I used the solid axle that the morphine came with, with that hub. I read that Shimano hubs can use that axle. If you dont know how to do it, take it to your LBS. If you don't have the solid axle, www.unrealcycles.com has one in the "small parts" section. XSL_WiLL 05-01-2006, 02:38 PM Or your LBS will have one for 10 to 15 dollars as well... |
