I'm heading that way in the next week or two and could use some info on what's dry and what's not. Last time I was in NM -- May of last year -- we weren't able to ride South Boundary Trail due to snow. I hear Otero is good and dry. Any other trails? Thanks!
* And you can make this a 'All the info you ever needed' thread since I don't know about NM much and will be there solo camping/riding/hiking. Thanks again.

mid-april Santa Fe trails report:
after a 37 mile semi-epic "tour of santa fe" ride yesterday, which included trails at St. Johns College/Arroyo Chamiso/Atalya, Dale Ball South and Central, and North sections, the Chamisa Trail to Windsor Trail to Borrego/Bear Wallow trails/triangle, back down Windsor up Chamisa to "Serpant" trail off of Chamisa down to Little Tesuque Creek (full!) and out... I can report that all these trails are in GREAT, if not the best, shape I've seen them in a few years. There are lot's of "draws" or creeks running, like at Bear Wallow, and lower Chamisa on the Windsor side, but Windsor up to 9000 (roughly at Borrego/Windsor intersection) feet is dry and nice! I'll head further up soon..... but there is still lot's of snow up past 10000 feet, it looks like.

I will only comment on Abq. area rides as I have no first hand knowledge of conditions further north. The foothills trails are in great shape, even a few stream crossings right now. Cedro is dry. Otero canyon is good right now, although there are conflicting reports as to what is "legal" to ride out there. White mesa might be nice, providing the winds are absent, scary exposure out there. The east side of the Sandias may be ready by the time you get here, but I couldn't say for sure.
As for the Santa Fe, Los Alamos area, I have heard Dale Ball is rideable, as well as some of the trails in LA, but I'll let one of those fine folks give you the specifics.
I wouldn't count on South Boundary being rideable.
