What's the handlebars on that thing? Looks like a wide flat bar ala the Niner bars. Is Bontrager now making a wide flat bar with some sweep?

Being a 69er, shouldn't it have the 26" wheel in the front and the 29" wheel in the back? I figured Huffy would be first to market with one of those.

II think they are copying Carver. Haven't ridden one, but supposedly it rolls over terrain like a 29er, but the 26" rear tire will give you the acceleration of a 26er. Plus you get to carry multiple tube sizes and stuff.

Saw this also in person today while an impromptu photo shoot with Travis was under way.

While I'm biased towards a true 29er....I must say it is just as ugly in person as it is in the above photo. *blek

I think they are leaving the 29er fold to their other brand, G. Fisher.
I love, love, love my 29er, but have recently been messing around on my "Mutt" which is a standard 26er frame and rear wheel with a 29" front wheel supported by an On One Inbred fork
with a 420mm A/C measurement. There is something to it. Maybe I'll start a 69er thread and discuss all that I have experienced while riding mine. The good and the ugly.

Oh yeah- ajoc_prez: you don't need two different tubes. 26 inch tubes work just fine (sometimes better) in a 29er tire.

I believe the bars are the Bontrager "Big Sweep" model. 26" wide like a riser with 12 degrees of backsweep. Oversized bulge (31.8). I rode a set on Dejay Birch's Rig last year and they felt great. Promted me to get the Salsa bars with 11 degree sweep 'cause I didn't want to have to buy an oversized stem when I already had a new Thomson.

No special name. It will just be called a 29.8.

I have one..for a retail of over $2300 you would think they would throw on some carbon parts such as: Seatpost, bars, Juicy 7 carbon or Ultimates etc...Also; they didn't even give tubeless valve stems or strips for their flagship Race X Lite wheels.

That must have been one great salesman to get you to buy it then. All the things you bring up are pretty evident just looking at it. That guy or girl should start selling homes or cars--more money in it than selling bikes.

Seriously, why did you buy it? I agree it seems over priced for a a bike where the only thing blingy is the fork.
