Thanks twrecks 04-02-2004, 05:52 AM I posted about them in the bike shop thread...I bought 2 bikes there, a low end Giant for my son and their used Trek Fuel 90 that was the demo bike. I like the owner Todd and the mechanic Brian with orange/blond hair, some of the other sales people are kind of rude, I just ignore them. They have a fit kit so if you need sizing they will set you up, and they don't seem to have a problem ordering stuff you need, they don't have a lot of aftermarket stuff in the shop (it is small). They seem to specialize in high end bikes. JoeP 04-02-2004, 06:51 AM The shop owners Todd and Anne are great to work with and they do a lot to support local biking and advocacy, e.g., trailwork, demo days, races, etc. Derrick, their service manager, is a great bike mechanic. They might not always have the cheapest prices, but because of what they give back to the biking community, it's worth it to shop there. BTW, they'll give you 10% off anything if you're a member of MORE. Fat Bob 04-03-2004, 05:34 AM I bought my Superlight from them, they are a great LBS. They're not the cheapest, but they give back more than they take in. If you're not too tall, check out their demo's too. Todd will usually give you a pretty good deal if they're getting their new stock in. The best part about them is that they're going to back you up. Todd & Anne have been in the bike industry for a long time. Good luck! Any one here used them for a new ride? Thinking of a new ride from them and wanting to hear from anyone who has used them. Thanks Juan in A mil 04-03-2004, 07:00 PM I bought my Superlight from them and really enjoyed dealing with them. It may not be the biggest LBS, but if personalized service is what matters to you, you won't be dissappointed. Like Joe P said, The owners are great pepople, but they know their stuff too. I have ridden with both of them at different times and they are as pleasant/helpful inside the store as they are outside. They have fast, reliable service if your bike needs repairs and the discounts available make the whole deal worthwhile. I shop in several LBS in the Washington Metro Area and have come to realize that only a handfull of them make a difference...The BIke Lane definitely is one of them. Good Luck! biker10 04-04-2004, 06:17 PM I must agree with everyone else here. The Bike Lane has great customer service and some good mechanics and gives alot back to the cycling community which is reason enough to buy from them but they aren't the cheapest. I've only had them work on my rides and have purchased some parts from them but when it comes time to buy a new ride it will probably be bought at the Bike Lane. Just my .02 |
