I need to replace a worn out freehub body on a 9sp system. I have a 1999 LX hub. I found a website selling freehub bodies: XT-M760-5 ($18) and XT-M750 ($30), but there are no details. Shimano upgraded other XT component designations from 750 to 760 - anyone know if that's also true for the freehub bodies? What's with the -5, and why the price difference? Are they compatible with the LX?

Not sure about the 760, ask your lbs. I put a 750 on my old lx hub with no problems. All you need is a 10mm allen wrench. Good luck. FSR

XT freehub body will last a little longer and fits just the same. Not sure if any difference on the new 760, but I doubt it. What site are you using?
