We will be working with your local bike shops
You can also order direct from our website.

CNC machined EBB means perfect BB shell alignment and ultra-clean threads right out of the box
Titanium set screws
Reynolds custom butted 853 size specific tubing
Custom made Breezer style dropouts with a replaceable alloy derailleur hanger when running gears, or an alloy insert for a smooth look when running single speed.

Guess you won't sell the fork seperately?
Please give us the geometry specs and weight (steerer length) of the fork?

Thanks a lot!

OK, this looks like a definite possibility for my 1/2 century birthday present next year!

3 questions:
1. the quoted standover from your website...measured to middle of top tube?
2. pricing...so "frame and fork" refers to frame and Reba for $1149? and frame w/rigid fork is $1149-$221 = $928?
3. rigid fork is 853 tubing also?

make mine Tang.

Just so you know, there are some changes to the SIR 9 geometry from the ONE 9, so the standover height you're looking at might not even be accurate. The SMALL and MEDIUM frames have exactly the same geometry as the ONE 9. The Large and EXTRA LARGE frames on the SIR 9 are slightly different geometry. The Large has a 105mm head tube length and a 19 inch center to top measurement (with EBB in the 6 o'clock position). The standover on the large is 29 inches on the SIR 9 (smaller diameter steel tube and welded slightly lower on the seat tube than the ONE 9). The XL will have a 120mm head tube length and a 21.5 inch center to top seat tube. Standover is 32 inches. Standover is measured out about 1/3 of the distance from the seat tube.

Your pricing math is correct. Sorry for the confusion.

No, the rigid fork is not 853. It is a double butted cromoly fork with tubes drawn for Niner. We do not have the final spec's on the fork, as we are currently testing the prototypes (both on the dirt and in the lab). The current prototype is 490mm crown to axle with a 39mm rake. This works perfectly with our bikes, keeping the geometry exactly where we designed the bikes to work the best. This is the same crown to axle as an 80mm Reba with no sag, or a 100mm Reba with sag. Weight on the fork will be sub 1000 grams. Prototypes we're testing weighed in at 980grams with a full, uncut steerer tube.

Yes, we will be selling the fork seperatly.

Sorry, forgot to answer steerer tube length. It's 250mm. All the other info on the fork is in the post below. And yes, we will sell seperatly. The fork will come in all of the Niner colors, and we will also offer a black one for those of you who want to use the fork on other frames.

We will be offering American Classics Geared 29 disc wheels. The hub flange has been widened on these hubs. The wheels are the same price as the SS wheels.

We have had a lot of requests for pre-order forms. Thanks! but man it is taking up a bunch of my time. I will post it here to make it faster for you to fill out and send in.

If you want a Kermit Green frame it is best to pre-order. We will most likely not be stocking this color so after they are sold that will be it.

Pre-order guaranty of color and size will end Nov 8th. (We will be heading into production) After that you will still get the free goodies but we will not be able to guarantee your color choice.

Thanks for the great response and support you have all given us. We are totally committed to the 29 experience and will continue to bring you more frames and products to fuel The Big Revolution!

I do not see it listed on the website for the s.i.r.9?
I would think I am a large, but want to make sure!
I want to make sure I am ordering the right size frame.

Now I have run out of excuses not to buy one. The option of running it geared or SS is too tempting. Will start filling out the order form tonight.

Oh wait the frame colors will not look good with my Blue Hadley hubs! Will they?

Is there a recommended weight limit for this frame/fork? I'm a little on the heavier side (around 220) and I'm this // close to putting in my preorder.

Also, what's the deposit for the frame/ rigid fork?

Thanks much, beautiful bikes.

Hey Kman,
I'm in the process of ordering the SIR9 also and am having trouble deciding between a Med and Large. I'm 5-10 with a 33 inch inseam, I normally ride a 23.5 TT with a 120 stem, but Niner recomends a 90mm stem. Sent Chris an email and He recommended the medium for my height and inseam, but with such a short stem, that would make for a short cockpit. How tall are you and have you decided what size you're getting?
Thanks

order sent for my very first 29er. Just waiting on the PayPal transfer to seal the deal. Been lurking and debating for long enough, all the pieces of the puzzle are in place, and I can now get a full night's sleep.

Make mine Kermit green please! which reminds me, What's green and smells like pork?

anyways, you guys at Niner are rock stars and I can't wait for my bike. Then I'll start posting new questions like "What tires are the best?", "What SS gearing should I use?" and "Do you guys climb faster with 29" wheels?" :D

In a moment of weakness I found myself placing an order as well. I won't even be here when it's done, but damn! I really couldn't resist!

No, at that weight you'll be fine. You'll be very happy too.
The tubeset used for the larger sizes is appropriate.

I think you'd have to push 250+ for a lifespan issue to develop.

i would recommend the large.
Chris likes his bikes small! ;)

My wife is 5'7 and on a medium Niner with a 110 stem and a maxed out 350mm post.

At your height, it seems you'd need a 130mm stem....doesn't seem right to me...

In my world, singlespeeds require generous cockpits for standing room.

I'm looking at the sizing charts, and I'm on the fence as well. I'm very comfortable on my med KM, and the med niner has a longer eff TT than the monkey (by .25"). I'm concerned about the short seattube though, my inseam is about a 32. Will I have enough post on a medium?

The sizing charts are identifying a size medium for folks up to 6'1", and i've always preferred my frames a little small... BTW, I'm using about a 90 mm stem with 1.5" riser on my SS monkey.

Looking for feedback. Thanks.

My wife's inseam is about 32" also. With a 410mm post you'll have no issue at all.

Hopefully this will help with some of the folks who are on the fence:

I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. I ride the medium frame with a 90mm stem and am perfectly comfortable. I also am not running the seat post at max extension (there's about two inches before the max line with my seat. Keep in mind some seats are taller than others and I've been ridding on the WTB Pure V saddle which I think is a little higher above the rails than a flite or some other super thin seats).

For me, the ETT of the medium, 23.75 is right. The large, 24.5 seems long, but when you combine that with the short stem thats recommended, 90-95, it seems like it would shorten the cockpit too much for me on the med. Is there a specific reason for the short stem on this frame? Would a longer stem create a handling quirk? I run a 120 on my Med KM and the fit and handling are great.
Thanks
