Im here in Kailua, (Oahu) for another week from Santa Cruz and haven't seemed to notice much of a mountain bike (cross country), single speed, or cyclocross scene.
So fellow riders, help a ..brudda out, ya. What am I not seeing? And where can I find it?
I just thought id ask here before i troll the web some more. Mahalo!

Sorry, if you were on the Big Island it'd be great, we'd be able to go for a ride.
Give the guys at Shaka Bikes and Boards a call. They're really cool and very helpful. Either that or I've found the guys at Raging Isles in Haleiwa cool too!! Good luck.

:cool: Not much of a cyclocross scene here in the islands - too bad, I tried it out when I was in Norcal for a year in 2000 and it was a blast! You can hook up with the A.S.S. folks at The Bike Shop (there's one in Kailua) - oh yeah, that's Aloha Single Speeders. There's a group of XC folks riding Peacock Flats on the North Shore this Sunday at 7:30am. They meet at Mokuleia Beach Park. It's a good 3+ hour ride. Then we have the annual 24 Hours of Hell in Paradise next weekend (8/9 Oct) at Kualoa Ranch - that's a fun time, too! Enjoy it while you can :p

Do you ever make it to Kernville MTB festival? Every 2-3 years I make it out for the Kernville festival. I usually take one trip a year to ride with my friends in different parts of the country. This year "they" went back to Crested Butte. I was too busy at work etc.
Likewise, you ever make it to the Big Island, jingle me.
