I've spent a lot of time here in the past, I now live in Seattle, but I visit once a year still. Road biking is great if you can beat the weekenders or general fudgie traffic. Leave early. Best bet is the Pennisula area. Lots of pavement, little traffic, nice rural views. Out to Boyne down the Advance road is good. For a nice break, plan in the Ironton ferry. Also, the path from Charlevoix to Petosky is nice. I'd take the route through Horton Bay (nice stop at the general store) to get there from EJ. However, I'm now much more of a mtn biker. Would love to hear any input on this. I visit there once a year and would love to know of any riding opportunities (XC, all mountain, free ride) in this area. Jordan River Valley? There has to be some good riding in the area, I've just never done it. Gee, I hope someone else responds. cmv96 08-07-2005, 06:53 PM any good rentals? whats the road or dirt riding like? Should i pack the pedals, helmet and gear? I'm in Petoskey for the summer. There is great road riding around EJ. Smooth roads & little traffic. I prefer MTB myself, and like to ride the North Country Trail near Harbor Springs. The closest MTBing near EJ will be Avalanche in Boyne City (mediocre) and Boyne Mtn ski area. bence 10-14-2005, 04:11 PM Hey guys! I'm new here, I live in eastjordan.
