I have read all sorts of things regarding Kelly 29" forks and how they are shorter than others. What would one experience ride wise if they were to use one on a Niner One 9?
I'm guessing it will steepen the angles making for quicker handeling and a steeper seat-tube. If this is the case, by how much?
Thanks

I talked with my LBS owner about the Kelly on the new Unit 2-9. He said that though Kelly claims on their website that the 29er fork is suspension corrected, it isn't. The result on the niner (which already has steep angles) would be a total disaster. It would go from a quick handling trail rocket to nearly unrideable imho. Plus for the money you can almost get a WW. No brainer.

Someone please explain me people's fascination to put a short Kelly fork on any bike? Does it hold magical power? Made of anti-matter?
If you have Niner or Kelly money, a snap of your fingers will send you a fork that fits your bike and alters handling just the way you want it. Handlebars and stems can take care of any height changes you might like.
a few thoughts;
the ht angle will steepen, maybe by 1* or abit more. handlig will be very snappy/twichy
also, the bb hieght will probably be lowered by 1/2", that can get a biggy (you'll smack pedals alot of places depnding on where you ride). this can be very annoying.
you'll have to buy a few spacers, a riser stem/bar to make up for the lower crown to axle.
i have ridin' the kelly fork. it's nice, but my walt works for rides better. i am sure a wily fork will be just as nice if you like straight blade forks. vulture and vicious cycles are also doing the straight blade unicrown forks in longer lengths as well.
or, you can always run a KM fork.

just my 2 cents and what I am doing.......because I do not have the patience (at this moment) to wait for a custom Waltworks true suspension corrected fork, I just ordered my One 9 SS with the karate monkey that while heavy, will be the correct height. I will either (1) buy a Waltworks fork down the road or (2) more likely, buy the new Ninerbikes fork when it becomes available....it will be color matched as well.
