Need some help? I can't decide which bike would be best for me.

I ride mostly tight single track with roots and some rock but not much. Half of what I ride is tight and twisting, the other fast with straighter lines and rolling hills.

Most of the tight twisting trails are loaded with up and down rollers and your average speed is much slower. The straighter lined trails are more like Tsali, LBL or The BUMP.

I currently ride a Santa Cruz Superlight that I intend to keep for some longer weekend rides.

This new bike will be for racing.

Should I go with the Soft Tail or Hard Tail?

When I race, I tend to stand up in the bumpy stuff anyway. Old habits from Moto-Cross. So I lean towards the Seven Sola hard tail.

As you can tell, I am confused. The soft tail is appealing since it takes the edge off, BUT I do NOT want to sacrifice the way the bike handles in the corners. I do not like the way my Santa Cruz feels in the turns. I want something that carves them up and just motors out of the turns and climbs well. Does a soft tail handle and climb well? I mean is it quick and responsive in the turns?

Has anyone ridden a Seven Teres and a Moots YBB? Which is the best?

HELP

P.S. I currently own a Seven Axiom SG road bike. Seven does an excellent job at building custom bikes. I love mine.

I'm sorry but 2k plus for a hardtail seems silly to me but what do I know about high-end ti. I'm always ridden steel HTs. You can get a custom Curtlo for $750 that would rock your world. I know, it isn't a Seven.

PS I would get a Turner Nitrous and give the HTs to the kids to play with at the park :)
