While looking for a full suspension bikes to replace my hardtail ones, I came accross the Marin's Rock Springs, which seems to have good components for the price.
I wonder if anyone have used them, or have comments ?
I am looking for "all mountain" bikes for technical singletracks etc. , but that I will be able to climb normally as well.
BTW - Why Marin are not so popular, at least in these forums ?

I don't own one, but if you're looking for more reviews/comments/etc., search also for the Marin Attack and Wolf Ridge, which are the same TARA frames with different component specs. Also the Mount Vision, Rift Zone & East Peak use a similar linkage design but with 4" of travel (they call it their QUAD linkage).

I just swapped my x3yr old RS for a Turner 5 Spot which I feel much more suited to. I found the Marin a little too tall and long in the tight stuff and when things got steep the front felt v.light indeed. It's a great XC and v.comfy. The TARA system was handy but I usually rode in the middle 5" setting. It'd handle any terrain and was a great first full susser for me that was v.stable once you got it pointed in the right direction.

However, I've found the 5 Spot to be much more chuckable and nibble on tight switchbacks and it doesn't seem to rear up anyway near as much when climbing.

Kinda sorry to see my old Marin go tho 'cos we had some good times.

Marin's seem to be fairly popular over here in the UK and you can find a great deal about 'em on BikeMagic (http://www.bikemagic.com)
