I just got in a new set of wheels with xt disc hubs, The rear hub has got more than twice the rolling resistance than my stock shimano hub. Is this fixable. I heard that shimano doesn't even grease there hubs before shipping. Is this true? Should I just rebuild it and see if that works??

Any loose ball and cone hub (such as the XT) should be repacked and adjusted before use. They usually feel awful straight out of the box. Mine sure did.

I have just realized that the rubber "seal' type thing on the opposite side from the casette seems to be cauisng the resistance. Like it s pushing on the hub way too hard.
