I'm a small girl rider (5'6" 110 lbs.), but pretty aggressive. I am currently in the market for a new bike, but am wondering of the two I want what might be better. I had my hopes set on the Edge, but have been reading up on it and how it compares to the VT2. Since I am so small, I am thinking that the weight difference (the VT2 is considerably lighter) will be the biggest issue, although I'm not sold on the Psylo fork. Any suggestions?

The '04 VTs dumped the Rock Shock forks. The VT2 comes with a Manitou Minute and the VT3 with a Manitou Black.

If you get a '03 for cheap with a Psylo it's still a good bike. The Pslyo is not a bad fork. They are just the RedHaired Stepchild of 2003. Everyone liked to dis them, but they were very decent forks. I've heard owners rave about them.

Both bikes are great. I'd chose the VT. But that's just an opinion. You should ride both.

enjoy

i've been riding my edge for over a year now and completely love it. i've had limited time on the vt but it appears to be a good bike also. i think the edge is a much stronger frame. the tubeset on the vt just like all the giants are very thinwalled. i have had lots of tough miles on my edge and it is going strong. i would say that the edge offers a stiffer fork, but at your weight, it's not gonna make much difference. as far as weight, they should be pretty close. the edge will weigh a little more cause that marzocchi fork is a tank. the vt does offer adjustable travel and an spv shock. you can't go wrong either way. if it matters, rocky frames are still handmade in canada.
