    Youth Helmet

Hello, Im new to the site and new to the sport. My son(7yrs) and I have started doing a little riding. We both have a good time riding and looks like we'll be getting into it a little heavier.
My question is my son has a basic bike helmet, Its has the look of a dragon with rubbery horns on it(Raskulls). He thinks its cool looking and likes wearing it. I don't worry about him just riding around the neighborhood with it, but i'm no sure if he need a better helmet back on the trails. I know you can never be too safe, but not sure if i will gain anymore protection.
Any input, advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and looking forward to all the info this site has to offer on the sport.

If it fits his head completely then you shouldn't worry about it, especially when he likes wearing his helmet so much! It's cool to make him think the helmet is a nice thing to wear from such an early age, so you're all good. You might consider changing it with some superior material, though. Depends on what kind of helmet he's wearing right now.
