What's the latest and greatest in joint armor?

Seeing lots of solid reviews but many seem to be dated. Looking for elbow, knee, shin, and knee/shin combos.

Poc VPD 2.0 knee are nice. Low profile, light, comfortable, decent protection. They are nicely snug and do not move around. Fit is better after few rides.
I did not like the stitching on the back, which rubbed my knee. Now I just use a piece of light socks under it and like them a lot.
Poc vpd 2.0 elbow are good but the DH version seems to be better, since it has 2 straps as opposed to the 1 strap on regular.
I have tried another 3 different pads (tld, g-form) and the poc seem to work the best for me.
I have heard a lot of good about Scott's pads too.

A few brands that are really owning the Market are

    G-Form
    Demon
    POC

G-Form makes the Xrd Elbow and Knee pads

Demon Hyper knee x d30, Demon hyper knee/shin xd30 Demon soft cap pro X d30 knee and elbow

    POC VPD 2.0 Knee/Elbow 2.0 DH Knee/Elbow

With the advance technology that these pads offer they are able to make them super light weight and low profile without sacrificing protection.

Vpd 2.0 dh knee is super new. A coworker of mine as the long knee and likes it a lot. Fits like the non dh one, just with a cap on it.

is the location of the lower strap just the same as the non-dh one? above the calf? it will be quite uncomfortable if the strap were 'on' the calf, plus it has the tendency to slide if its 'on' the calf muscle itself rather than being higher than it.
