Last weekend I took a nasty high speed crash, landing 50/50 between mt helmet and shoulder. I fractured my collar, and had suffered a concussion. I was riding a Troy Lee D2, which is now trashed. Lucky for me it did it's job, and now it's in a box heading back to Troy Lee for crash replacement. However, as I think about my crash and how my helm performed, maybe I should step up the level of protection (not that I'm not grateful). My only grip is the lack of padding ontop of my head (which is still bruised). Maybe I should look at a DOT approved lid, or maybe just a different make/model DH helm. Thoughts?
