I commute to work on my mtb with Speedplay Frog pedals and wear my shoes at work, but they're old and worn and I'm looking for a new pair of shoes.
Primary criteria is fully recessed cleats that don't grind on the floor when walking on hard surfaces. Preferably surrounded by a solid sole that won't wear quickly from walking around on sidewalks/pavement (lunch break, coffee meetings), unlike the ridged sole of my current pair where the ridges wore down quickly and the cleat started scraping the ground.
It's hard to figure this out from online shopping and my lbs's don't have a good selection for this. Anyone have any recommendations?
PS - I'm partial to velcro straps instead of laces, and/or a look that fits more with business casual than racing, but these are optional.
