Shimano shoe sizing for size 10?

I'm looking at the AM45 shoe. They offer this in a 44 or a 45. A size US10 is inbetween the two. I've never owned a pair of shoes that are EU sizing so have nothing to go on. I also dont have these anywhere locally to try on, and dont want to have to pay for return shipping, exchanging, wait times etc.

Anyone have any insight here? I wear a size 10 in pretty much everything and figure a size 10 is pretty dang common for men. According to their sizing chart, a 44 appears just slightly larger than a 9.5 and a 45 is all the way to a 10.5. Any insight out there on this?

I wear a US 10 1/2 in most street shoes. In a Shimano MO86 MTB shoe I wore a 46 and in Sidi I wear a 45 if that helps at all...

I wear 9.5-10.5 depending on the desired fit (all footwear outside of climbing shoes). My Shimano Velcros are a 43 and fit with my toe just touching the front, but when I tried on the new version of my shoe my toes were a bit crammed, even for me. The 44 Velcro fit, but with a little more room than I am used to. My Shimano lace ups are a 44 and have a little room for a heavier sock in cooler weather.

It has been my experience fitting different footwear that very few people wear just one size and that's it. So, look at all of your footwear. Are they 9.5-10 or 10-10.5? If they are all 10s buy both and return the pair that doesn't fit.

Anything size specific I buy at the local shop so I can try it on. Take a pair of socks the same weight as what you ride in.

I wear 10 or 10.5 in most street shoes and 45 in Shimano's. Shoes are just one of those things you really need to try on.
