Yesterday I had a nice little wreck at a local trail. I ripped 2 small holes in my Pearl Izumi Canyon baggy shorts. They are about 1cm long each and on the lower left side, not near any seams. I don't know if they will rip more on their own, so I'm wanting to patch them or sew them up. My wife suggested ironing a patch on, like you do with blue jeans, but I'm fairly sure you can't iron on the material that the shorts are made of. I'm also not too confident that sewing on it would hold, since the material is fairly light-weight.
Anyone have any suggestions for how to sew up torn shorts? My thoughts are to maybe sew it and then squirt some fabric glue on it to strengthen the stitches.
