New question here. Night Riding Lights

Can anyone recommend some gear or specs on lights for night riding?

Do you have both head lamp and bar lamp?

    Cool-blue Rhythm

One on the bar and one on the helmet. One in reserve.

I have a Magicshine, a knockoff, a couple of Cree's that I picked up for a total of $38 on Amazon. I run some mixture of these. The reliable backup is a Niterider Lumina 500, which has a better Li-on battery . Set on low when fully charged, which is about 400 lumens each, they each last over two hours.

I have done about 10 night rides this year with this set up, some on trails that I hadn't seen berfore and light was never an issue.

Great so it isn't necessary to spend the hundreds of dollars that I see some lights costing on Amazon.

Not at all. I started with about $200 about 3 years ago for 2 lights and batteries, and those prices have come down. Conventional wisdom is to have 2 lights, one on bar that is more of a flood beam and one on helmet that is more of a spot.

I have had awesome service from Jim at Action-Led-Lights. A little more $ than most of the Chinese based sellers, but to me well worth it for the quick shipping and great personal service.

I spent 300 on two lights, a cygolite and lezyne...if they last forever, I will never buy replacements
