I just got a new pair of Giro codes and am using new SPD cleats with them. They have a LOT of float; way more than I would like. The previous shoes also had a lot of float, which I attributed to just old, worn out cleats. But now that I've replaced the cleats, the problem persists, albeit not as bad as it was but still concerning. The pedals are Shimano XTs that are now about 2 years old . . . I certainly hope that pedals would last more than 2 years, but is this a sign of the pedals wearing?
